BALANCE FAMILY TIME & YOU TIME 

Each day is designed with mamas in mind - giving you dedicated  retreat times daily, but also leaving lots of space   to be with your family.

 Have quality time for yourself and with your loved ones so that you can lounge by the beach, make sand castles, take walks in the olive groves, and be truly present for your family- knowing you will also have nourishing time just for you.

Learn ways to access the profound Presence and Love that is available to us as mothers every single day.

Together we will journey through THE MOTHER'S PATH - Sacha's signature program.  Working with a bespoke 5 step journey to bring mamas from chaos to clarity, and sharing essential insights and reflections to understand  the profound rite of passage of motherhhood. 

Every step of the way we nourish ourselves with a curated set of holistic wellbeing practices- to help  mamas live their best life.

HEART CIRCLES

Build meaningful connections and discover the innate wisdom of your own heart. Each day we will sit in a special circle where we can feel into the theme of the day, and integrate the beautiful inner and outer journey we are on together, from a place of deep listening, compassion and presence.

DEEP REST

Journey in to the profound power of deep rest with the ancient art of yoga nidra.

 Lie down, get comfortable and let your mind and body drop into a place of total rest as you are guided with begtle words and sounds.

Tap into the wisdom of your intuition and feel the cumulative benefits of daily deep rest.

NURTURE YOUR BODY 

With gentle and nourishing lazy yoga practice each morning you can awaken your body,  stretch out any tensions and cultivate a mindful, gentle and adaptive yoga practice that leaves you feeling replenished. 

We will practice variations of Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, and Yoni Shakti Yoga during this week.

CONNECT TO THE POWER OF SOUND

Each day will contain mantra singing practice and vocal bliss- here we can connect to the yoga of the heart cultivate inner peace, release, joy and bliss with a variety of improvisation, Buddhist mantra, prayer songs in addition to Sanskrit kirtan - carefully explained so that all feel welcome- whether you are a mantra beginner or a long time practitioner of mantra



THE YOGA OF MOTHERHOOOD - SUMMER RETREAT PROGRAM 

WE JOURNEY TOGETHER
JULY 25th - 31st 2025


Day 1: WELCOME DAY

Welcome to Arillas! Take the day to settle into your accommodation, explore the serene surroundings, and prepare for the transformative week ahead.

  • 17:00 - 19:00: Opening SessionWe’ll gather for a warm welcome in the shala. This first session will include a gentle yoga practice, introductions, and an overview of the week’s flow. Set your intentions and connect with your fellow retreat participants in this sacred opening circle.


Day 2 - Day 6: MMERSION DAYS

Each of these five days will be dedicated toa different step of THE MOTHER'S PATH Program.  Deepening your connection with yourself, the elements (earth, water, fire, air and space)  and your fellow mamas through insights, reflections, yoga, mantra singing, and heartfelt sharing.

  • MORNING FREE TIME & FAMILY TIMEBegin your day with a nourishing breakfast with your family (not included) at your accommodation or one of the local cafes.

  • MORNING RETREAT SESSION 10:00 - 12:00:

​Each morning, we will immerse ourselves in THE MOTHER'S PATH , a heartfelt exploration of motherhood designed to empower and nurture. These sessions will guide you with compassion and intention through the milestones of your unique journey, helping you uncover tools to restore balance, foster healing, and inspire personal growth. With guided meditations, reflective journaling, and meaningful teachings, each day unfolds as a step toward deeper connection with yourself and your role as a mother, building a foundation for lasting transformation.​

  • FREE TIME & FAMILY TIME 12:00- 17.30:After the morning session, head back to your family, enjoy some beach time- have some lunch, (meals are not included, but you can choose from a variety of local cafes and restaurants or prepare your own meal at your accommodation). Spend the afternoon exploring Arillas, relaxing on the beach, and enjoying the nature and laid back lifestyle in this special resort.

  • 17.30-19.30 EVENING RETREAT SESSION

Each evening we come together for enriching bonus sessions. These gatherings will include a blend of mantra chanting, yoga nidra, gentle yoga, and meditation to help you wind down and restore your energy. These circles will offer opportunities to deepen our connection with ourselves and others, integrate and work with mind, body, spirit tools to rebalance the nervous system, replenish ourselves and access joy and bliss.

19.30 EVENING FREE TIME & FAMLY TIME

Enjoy some dinner back with your family (meals not included) and be home in time to put the kids to bed. Enjoy a laid back evening with your loved ones either heading to one of the many local events or simply chilling out at your accommodation- take some time to do whatever you wish :) 


Day 7: CLOSING CEREMONY

On this final day, we’ll gather one last time to integrate our retreat with gratitude and celebration.

  • 10:00 - 12:00: Closing ceremony and final session.

    Reflect on your journey, share your insights, and honour the special connections you’ve made with the other mamas during this retreat. This session will be  a closing circle to seal the experience and set your clear intensions for using all that you have learned during The Yoga of Motherhood Retreat. ​Take the rest of the day to  prepare for your journey home feeling rejuvenated and inspired.




 
PRACTICAL INFORMATION​

PRICE

The price the retreat program is £299 - this entitles you to all the sessions of our retreat.

 

In addition to that you will have other travel costs that are not included.  My rough estimation is that the retreat and all essential travel costs will be will cost between £797 - 997 for the low to mid- budget traveller.   Higher budget options also available for folk looking for more luxury accommodation or extras :)

  • It is possible to arrange everything you need (eg shuttle, accommodation and transport) with our friends at Green Corfu: www.greencorfu.com  They are lovely and offer streamlined organisation,



    while still staying budget friendly- tell them you want somewhere close to Yoga in Motion and that Sacha says hi ....and they can do everything else :)

ACCOMMODATION

  • Check on Airbnb, or Booking.com. (prices from EUR 30- 70 per night depending upon what you would like - I would advise you choose somewhere a short walk from Yoga in Motion and the beach- but you can also hire a scoter or car and choose one of the lovely places 10 mins or so outside Arillas if you feel like something a bit different (...like my lovely former home mandala yoga b & b )

AIRPORT TRANSFER
  • You will need a transfer from the airport in Corfu Town approx 1 hour away

  • LOCAL BUS - see the green bus schedule and take a bus to Arillas from about EUR 4 each way.  CORFU GREEN BUS LINK HERE

  • SHUTTLE this will cost between EUR 13-60 for shuttle (you can arrange with Arillas Travel HERE 

  • TAXI - You can hire a taxi for EUR from 50 each way for a local driver (ask me by email if you want to know more about this) up to 80 for a fancy town car. ALFA TAXI ..

FOOD
  • Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner are not included, you will get a light snack and some tea during our late morning break only. -You can self-cater at your apartment or explore the variety of local cafes and restaurants in Arillas and nearby villages. Shops and restaurants are all a short walk from our Shala.

GETTING AROUND​

​

  • Walking is the easiest way to get around -Our shala is a short, flat walk to the beach (around 2 mins walk), there are also shops, tavernas and other lovely things only minutes away as we are right in the heart of the village- so as long as your accommodation is close a car is not essential. If you do want to hire a car or scooter to see more of the local area this is an optional extra- you can hire a car or scooter from a number of local places-you might want to try Arillas cars  or   Arillas Travel HERE

EXTRA EVENTS

​

  • Arillas is a thriving alternative community, there are many local community events such as Ecstatic dance, Meditation, contanct improvisation, kung fu, cacao ceremonies and much more, you will be given all the info you need to join any of the community events offered during your stay. These are not included in the retreat price and usually range from donations to  15-20EUR



THE WEATHER IN CORFU IN SEPTEMBER
  • Corfu in September offers warm, pleasant weather, making it the perfect time for a retreat. Here’s what to expect:

  • Temperatures:

    • Daytime temperatures range between 25°C to 30°C (77°F to 86°F), ideal for beach time and outdoor activities.

    • Evening temperatures can drop to around 18°C to 22°C (64°F to 72°F), so a light sweater or jacket is advisable.

  • Rainfall:

    • While September is generally dry and sunny, occasional rain showers can occur, so packing a light rain jacket or umbrella is a good idea.

  • Sea Temperature:

    • The sea is warm, averaging around 21°C, making it perfect for swimming.

  • Humidity:

    • Humidity levels are moderate, so light and breathable fabrics will keep you comfortable throughout the day.

Hello Mama 

My name is Sacha.

I am a mother of 2 miraculous children, & the focus of my work is supporting mothers through the incredible, intense & profound rite of passage that is matrescence: the transitory stage of life we enter as we become mothers. 

​​

My joy is to  weave together a unique blend of movement, meditation, mindfulness based coaching, & sharing circles, all tailored to nourish & support  mothers. Empowering mamas to find themselves anew, to feel connected to each other, and to reflect upon and redesign their lives,  as they navigate through this unique and powerful metamorphosis.


WHY I DO THIS WORK...

To put it simply my own matrescence hit me like a ton of bricks.

​

It began with infertility- 4 years of longing for motherhood and thinking it would never happen. 

​

Then as I began to give up all hope, the ecstasy of a new pregnancy, soon followed by the complete destruction of my wellbeing - I suffered Hyperemisis Gravidarum an extreme form of morning sickness where I vomited up to 20 times a day, lost a lot of weight, worried for my life and the life of my babies and couldn't leave my bed for months... So that was the beginning.  

​​

Then there were the births. my first was more challenging, and required me and my son to receive emergency treatment immediately after birth, my second more idyllic: into water surrounded by my partner, my son and my best friends. 

 

Then there were the early years.  Living on a Greek island, running a yoga retreat centre from our home, far from family support. (And to be clear here- our families are amazing, and helped whenever they could but they can only visit from the UK, or host us for understandably limited times!)  We welcomed guests from all around the world, and tried to keep it clean and quiet all the time for our guests, all the while caring for first 1 then 2 babies. My gorgeous son faced undiagnosed food intolerances (even through my milk!) that meant he didn't really gain enough weight, he vomited very often and he didn't sleep well- at all.  I lived for a number of years on very little sleep, very little food and very little free time. 

​​

It was a time of deep love and also pain. A time of profound depth and beauty, a time of chaos, confusion, mess, stress, strength. bliss, falling apart, , breaking down, breaking open, and ultimately breaking through. 

​

In my heart's calling to be there for my children, I disappeared from my work, my friends, my partner, and even myself .  I went through a process of re-birth that I now see as an inevitable and key part of the metamorphosis of motherhood... but in my case (and in many cases) it was unnecessarily rough due to lack of knowledge at what was happening to me, and lack of guidance and support.

​

I kept needing to  let go of little pieces of who I used to be.  At the time I found it raw and intense, but I now see what a gift this time is when we can do it consciously. All the spiritual traditions I hold dear and have practiced and trained in my whole life are leading one to a state of no-self, of dropping the ego, a being in the here and now. The traditions also speak of the power of cultivating kindness and compassion. And these are all the exact virtues that mothers naturally embody. The key is to understand what is happening, to support oneself as one goes through it, and to navigate the metamorphosis consciously. ​  Only a mother can empower herself to do this, and she must do this in the face of a society that has no clue how to be with the power, the beauty, the practicalities, the mystery, and the magic of this time. 

​​

When I discovered the word matrescence- it was as though I had stepped through a magic mirror. 

Everything looked the same but felt totally different. I immediately understood the inner journey I had navigated, and where through my ignorance I had not been able to fully support myself through this radical shift. I studied (and continue to study) everything and anything I can find on matrescence, and the feminine mystery schools and practices that are so wonderful at supporting the evolution of women.  I gathered with my sisters, I sat in circles time and time again, and gave space to the deep wisdom that is innate within each of us when we allow ourselves to be vulnerable, and totally honest, and are inspired to look at ourselves, and embrace with humour and humbleness, the suffering, the mystery and the growth.  I have found that through this process deep healing and awakening are inevitable.

​​

Once I began to navigate my matrescence consciously many things shifted: Huge amounts of my day to day confusion and suffering fell away and have never returned. Huge amounts of joy, confidence and inspiration came in and continue to grow. And a fair amount of very grounded practical adjustments came in- allowing me to support myself and my family how we really needed to be supported.  Life and motherhood feels a lot easier and a lot more joyful. (It is obviously still has its crazy moments- this is the nature of the dance!)

As I began the work of integrating and healing, I shared anything useful I found with the circle of mothers around me. This became a tidal wave, a calling so strong that it was born into the work you now find here. ​Now I am weaving together all the work I did for many years before becoming a mother, and shaping it with love and reverence into a specific pathway to empower mothers moving through their matrescence.

Mothers are amazing, and I see over and again that with a little bit of space, support and nourishment every mama can blossom in her own unique and beautiful way.
